2026/2027 WCCQ Committee

PRESIDENT - BECKY WILSON

This is the 2nd term that I have been privledged to serve as president of the Welsh Corgi Club Queenlsand. I have owned and loved Pembrokes for decades as wonderful family pets. In 2015, I started conformation showing, and Carenci Corgis was established in 2016.

I show as much as possible and enjoy promoting this wonderful breed throughout Qld and Australia. My corgis bring me so much joy and I feel honoured to share the magic of owning a corgi with families whether it be show, performance or treasured pets. I am committed to preserving this delightful breed long into the future.

VICE PRESIDENT - DAVID BRADY

My journey as a Corgi father began in 1999 when we welcomed our first Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Rusty, into our family. From that moment on, whether I liked it or not, I had become a devoted Corgi dad. Over the years, Corgis became a huge part of our lives. In 2014, we started searching for another Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Instead, fate had other plans and led us to our very first Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Brychan took us on a journey into a world that was completely new to me. My wife, Tania, was already familiar with the show scene, having grown up with show dogs, but for me it was an exciting new adventure. It quickly became something we shared together, and before long we were completely addicted to the Cardigans and the world of dog showing

SECRETARY- MELODY LABINSKY

TREASURER & EDITOR- CHRISTINE FRASER

Corgis have been a constant part of my life since 1974, when I brought home my first Pembroke pup. Before the year was out, I returned for a second pup to even up the number. That was the beginning of a lifelong tradition of having two Corgis by my side. It would be fair to say that Corgis have always held a special place in my life.  My dogs bookend my entire life and everything in between.

My Corgi journey took a new direction in 2024 when I ventured into the fascinating, and sometimes rather puzzling, world of conformation dog showing

The journey continues…

SHOW SECRETARY- JOANNE MCCANN

My love affair with Pembroke Corgis began in 1970 when I was given my first Pembroke for my 18th birthday.  I was encouraged to enter my puppy in a local show where I won a blue ribbon and I was hooked!!  I have had bred and owned many champions but I feel my greatest achievement has been breeding Pembrokes which I considered to be of the correct type and temperament and seeing puppies become the best companions for loving families.  The joys and memories I have gained over the years has made my journey a really special one.

TROPHY STEWARD- TANIA BRADY

My love of Corgis began long before I ever owned one of my own. My uncle established Brightway Welsh Corgis, and throughout my childhood he regularly took me along to local dog shows. One of my fondest memories is travelling with him to enjoy the Adelaide Royal Show, where my passion for purebred dogs truly began. Our first Pembroke Welsh Corgi was Rusty, he was such an incredible dog that completely cemented my love for the breed.

I saw a Cardigan Welsh Corgi that I absolutely adored which sparked my interest in the Cardigan breed, and that curiosity soon became a passion. In 2015 we became a dedicated Cardigan household. This journey has brought some amazing people and dogs into my life, and I feel incredibly privileged for the friendships, mentorship, and unforgettable experiences gained
